We have been an Accredited Member of EAQUALS since 2003. Inspections take place every three years and accredited membership is awarded after the school demonstrates that all requirements of the EAQUALS Charter are respected. We received the following comments after our most recent inspection:

“ACET was inspected by EAQUALS in January, 2016 and met the high standards required for EAQUALS accreditation. Our Management and Administration are excellent as the ACET ethos was apparent throughout the organisation and endorsed by all categories of staff. The academic administration is an area of excellence beyond EAQUALS standards based on our comprehensive and regularly monitored systems. The overall care for students and the advice and support available plus the very efficient homestay administration and selection of families are areas of excellence.”

The EAQUALS inspectors identified the following areas of excellence in the institution:
• Management and Administration
Management and Administration meet the requirements of excellence as there is evidence of a strategic approach to management and an awareness of the economic environment, a clear evidence of leadership and sense of direction supported by an effective staffing structure and efficient administrative systems.
• Course Design and Supporting Systems
The academic administration systems, their design and implementation including: class lists, attendance records, teacher’s records of work completed, and timetables is an area of excellence.
• Academic Resources
Academic resources are excellent as the centre has a very wide collection of material for both staff and students to use and in-house material is being constantly monitored and added to.
• Client Services
The overall care for students and the advice and support available plus the very efficient homestay administration and selection of families are areas of excellence.

History

ACET is a family-run language centre. Our CEO, Odile Migieu, founded Cork Language Centre International (CLCI) in 1975.  As ACET expanded, Odile's husband, Pat Coade, who had been working as a quality consultant, joined the centre in 1989.   Their daughter, Joelle started working in ACET in 2000, after graduating in Management and Marketing. Today ACET is the oldest
remaining school of its type in Ireland.
In 2012, we decided to re-brand from CLCI to Active Centre of English Training (ACET) to reflect our modern, proactive and innovative philosophy.

Our long-standing experience and customer focused approach has given us a leading name for quality within the industry. The ACET staff aim to continuously improve the support we give to our partners and students and take pride in our flexibility, integrity and loyalty.
